Directions For Use

  1. To brush your pet, find a calm time and location to sit down with your pet for grooming. Gently stroke across the pet’s coat in the direction of hair growth. Start from your pet’s head and work your way back, using extra care near stomach, legs, genitals and anus. Avoid making excessive strokes in a single area, as this may cause irritation of your pet’s fur and skin. Brush until all debris is removed from the pet’s fur, tangles are removed, and all areas of fur have been brushed.
  2. Grooming is a good time to perform a complete physical inspection of your pet. As you brush your pet, look for sores, bruises and skin conditions, which your pet’s coat may conceal. If your pet has any of these conditions, seek treatment from a veterinarian before resuming brushing.

Usage Instructions

Please read all instructions and FAQs carefully before beginning your grooming. Use the FURminator® Dual Grooming Brush only as directed.

FAQs

Which side should I use?
The bristle brush side is an excellent all around brush that can be used on dogs with most coat types, removing debris or finishing the coat with a natural shine. The pin brush side works well with long pet coats. Both sides help remove debris or loose hair, and break up tangles.

When should I use the FURminator dual brush?
You pet can be brushed any time, on both wet and dry fur.  Brushing can be performed on its own or in conjunction with other products, such as a Detangling Spray or Shed Control Shampoo. Brushing is also an important step to perform before using a deShedding tool on your pet to remove tangles and small mats.

How often and how long should I use the FURminator dual brush?
For best results, use the FURminator dual brush daily for 5-10 minutes each session, though the actual time will vary depending on your pet’s breed, the condition of their coat, and the thickness of the pet’s individual coat. It may be necessary to use the dual sided brush tool more frequently during heavy shedding seasons or if the pet has excessive debris or tangles.

Where should I perform the grooming process?
Grooming your pet will loosen large amounts of loose hair and debris, so a location that is easy to clean, such as a tile floor indoors or an outdoor area, makes cleanup more convenient. Most importantly, always choose a location where your pet feels comfortable and safe.
